Location and Directions

Unity Center is in beautiful western North Carolina, surrounded by the Blue Ridge and Great Smokies Mountains. We are between the cities of Asheville and Hendersonville, and not far from Brevard.

We invite you to visit us soon! Sunday Celebration services are at 9:30 and 11:00 and we offer a wide variety of weekly classes and guest workshops, plus Concerts and a Spiritual Cinema series. Please see our Schedule for details.

We are located at 2041 Old Fanning Bridge Road (about 3 miles west of the Asheville Regional Airport), in the town of Mills River (but our mailing address is Fletcher).

Our beautiful new building opened in Sept. 2000. The Chapel is in half of an octagon that is 40 feet high in the center, with clerestory windows. The back wall of the stage features a commissioned artwork: a stained glass mosaic that depicts points of energy and light coming together in Spirit and love, at a wellspring set in the four seasons in the mountains. A computer projector will sometimes be used during services to project images or words to songs on a motorized screen. The other half of the octagon is a large patio that looks out over the hills and our neighbor's small lake.

Future plans for landscaping include a waterfall at a gathering patio and a meditation walk. This 21 acre tract of rolling pastureland also has an outdoor amphitheatre and stage, a picnic shelter & picnic tables, a lovely (cold!) stream, and a cosmic outhouse.

Directions to our Unity Center (from I-26):

Take I-26 to EXIT 40 ("Airport, Arden"); turn WEST (toward the airport) on Rt. 280.

Go 1 mile, past the airport, past the arena/fairgrounds, past the Broadmoor Golf Course, then turn RIGHT onto Old Fanning Bridge Road (big green sign for Mountain Horticultural Research Station).

Go 2 miles, across the river, past the Mountain Horticultural Crops Research Station. Unity will be on your Left, 1/2 mile from the intersection with Route 191.

NOTE: We do not videotape every Sunday!! Your request for a specific date will be honored as closely as possible; otherwise, we will substitute what is available!

Unity News & Views

Unity News & Views is published quarterly, at the beginning of March, June, September, and December. This 24-page, tabloid-style newspaper (printed on newsprint) is distributed free of charge, and mailed to subscribers. Annual subscriptions are offered for any donation to the Newsletter! Excerpts are available at this web site. Editor: Lytingale

We welcome the submission of articles, poetry, letters, reprints, etc. for and about our church family and spiritual growth. You may submit material handwritten, typed, on computer floppy or CD (for PC: .doc (Word), .txt, PageMaker formats; I can NOT use WordPerfect or Mac formats) or preferably by e-mail (please paste the text into the BODY of the email message). Please indicate whether or not you give permission for this material to also appear on our Web site.

Ads in the Unity News & Views

We reach a unique audience, both by mail and from drop-off locations throughout Western North Carolina (Asheville, Hendersonville, Waynesville, Black Mountain, etc). Our subscribers are located in many other states as well.

We limit the size of ads to create a "spiritual journal" look. Ads are usually placed along the bottom of each page, 3 horizontal or 4-5 vertical ads per page. Advertising is offered for the purpose of sharing information with each other, supporting like-minded businesses, and contributing to the cost of production.

Free layout is available. Provide a .jpg or .gif of any graphics/logo, or I can scan graphics/logos (black & white works best). Photos in ads work best when submitted as a PMT halftone at 85 line screen in the correct size - I do my best, but am not responsible for the results of scanned photos. Printing is onto newsprint at 150dpi. I work in Windows PageMaker, and can NOT use MAC formats!

Ads (camera-ready or copy for layout) may be submitted by mail, phone, or preferably by e-mail to Lyte@unitync.net.

We appreciate your advertising and we trust it reaches a receptive audience attuned to your product or service. Unity News & Views reaches 1,800 families by direct mail or various drop-off points throughout Western North Carolina.

Prepaid ads, business card sized (2" x 3.3") (the only size available!) (horizontal or vertical):
