Love IS the Answer

by Gabrielle M. Thompson, May 2011

“The shift is about to hit the fan” caught my eye for a movie entitled, I AM. I watched the trailer on the Internet, and knew it was a “must see” for this column’s deadline. It is what I have been writing about since I began compiling my words for Unity: the interconnection of all life and the evolution of consciousness. I have always known intuitively that our energy connects with every atom in the universe. We are one.

I was fifteen when I read Stranger in a Strange Land and realized someone else envisioned the world and mankind in the same way I did.

I was twenty-eight when I met Mrs. Tinning, who taught me how to connect with my higher self to help advance an understanding of who we are and what our experience is about.

In the fourteen years that Ed and I chartered Satori, I shared my beliefs with our guests and those I met along our journey and found that even though my thoughts might be foreign to them, most people accepted my words as heartfelt and were not put off by them; that we were one, like fingers on a hand, separate but connected, and evolving toward a higher plane of understanding and cooperation; that we were evolving into LOVE and total awareness of the all that is, and in so doing could create miracles on earth.

Many of the people we met felt changed in their week with us. It gave them an appreciation of just being alive: It could be as simple as a tropical sunset, a tire swing on a palm tree on a beach, the beauty of the underwater world, fair winds and a following sea, good food, a singing parrot, laughter—simple delights that made their hearts fill with happiness. In a week aboard a traditional yacht with no television or outside entertainment, it was the relationships with their shipmates and the appreciation of every blessing that manifested their joy.

With all of the cataclysmic events currently affecting the world, I have felt that our consciousness is having a direct bearing on our physical plane—it is pushing us to the brink of understanding.

What I was amazed to learn in the movie, is how much science had defined the impact of our thoughts and emotions on us and on our planet. With sensors world-wide, scientists have tracked random number generators after big events (911, the tsunami, etc.) and found that as the world focuses attention on an area, those generators go into sync.

Also, in other study, the human heart has been proven to emit waves, and the downbeat shows the emotional emanation of the person—a different response for anger or joy—that is measurable. We radiate, and it affects everyone around us.

Furthermore, since Einstein we have known that molecules which are spinning in proximity at the same pace will change (slow, reverse direction, etc.) at the exact same time, across space, when separated. Like these molecules, we have an impact on those we are closest to across space and time. Science is discovering that the heart has more bearing on our being than our brain. This adds weight to the religious belief that the heart is the soul of man.

When I do a color meditation and reach my heart chakra, I imagine a green light extending to my husband, next to me in bed, healing him. Then I see my daughter’s face in my mind’s eye, and envelop her in my love. I travel from state to state, and picture each friend, family member, or even acquaintance I can recall there, and send them my love. I circle the world, every country I have ever visited, picturing faces of those I can recall, seeing them filled with love. I finalize by holding the world in a cloud of my love. Many times, it feels as if I am really there. According to the movie, that interaction is real, because we have been in contact in the past. My love has reached the farthest shore.

Science is discovering that cooperation and love are really what drives our DNA. Darwin’s survival of the fittest became the thrust of his work through the interpretation of others, but he mentioned love even more often.

We are not civilized beasts; we are spirit in the throes of creation. Your focus is what you manifest. Manifesting things won’t necessarily bring you happiness. Once your basic needs are met, accumulation looses its luster. Relationships are what bring joy.

Compassion and caring have a measurable positive response on the body. We can be so much more than what we have been. We are love…we are one. We can change the world, one heart at a time.
