Prayer has always been an important part of Unity teachings, for Unity grew out of prayer. Unity School of Christianity, the world headquarters of the Unity movement, was founded in 1889 by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore after Mrs. Fillmore's remarkable healing using prayer and affirmations.

The worldwide prayer ministry at Unity Village (near Kansas City, Missouri) is called Silent Unity, a worldwide prayer ministry for people of all faiths. A light is always shining at Silent Unity, for someone is always praying, 24 hours a day, continuously for over 100 years!
