Rental of Unity Center Facilities

Unity Center is available to host a variety of events: workshops, meetings, weddings... all kinds of gatherings to serve our community. 

Unity Center shares its facilities with outside groups for primarily non-profit activities which are compatible with the vision of the Unity Center. 

The church is also available to celebrate significant personal life events which may include weddings, holy unions, anniversaries, birthdays, memorial services, awards for significant achievement and other celebrations.

Requests for building use should be submitted to the church administrator: unity@unitync.net or (828) 891-8700 or (828) 684-3798, and are subject to availability.  Since we are a busy center, call early!  Your request will only become a confirmed reservation upon payment of a $100 deposit, which becomes non-refundable two weeks before your event. Payment in full is due on or before your event date.  

We have an open philosophy and strive to be inclusive, but we do reserve the right to choose not to schedule your event for whatever reasons we choose. Space will be made available without regard to such arbitrary criteria as religion, race or ethnic heritage, gender, age, status, physical restriction, or sexual orientation. Our church-sponsored activities & programs always have priority.

Our facility is handicapped accessible, and is a non-smoking facility (OK to smoke outdoors by ashtrays)

FEES: Fees for a single use of the space are determined from the following guidelines. Fee reductions for multiple day or week events will be determined by the minister or administrator.

Unity Center facilities are available for use by members of our Unity Center for a Love Offering

Fees for all others (including weddings):

  • Chapel - $250 for 3-hour block of time; $400 for longer.  @3,500 sq ft. Includes: seating for up to 200 in comfortable, movable chairs; grand piano, full sound system, stage area.  Piano and Drums may be used ONLY WITH PRIOR APPROVAL. (See Sound Tech below for additional resources)
  • Fellowship Room - $150 for 3-hour block of time; $300 for longer; Can seat up to @50 people at tables. Includes use of 3 classrooms adjacent (for "break-out" rooms); 8' banquet Tables as needed; folding Chairs; upright Piano; large screen TV; easels.
  • Full Kitchen - $50 for beverage service only (you bring your own supplies); $150 for full kitchen use. Equipped with commercial Refrigerator, commercial Freezer, 2 electric Stoves/Ovens, 1 Microwave, 1 Food-warmer, commercial Dishwasher, 3 urns (Coffee, Decaf, Hot Water); Bunn coffeemaker (by the 10-cup pot).  Tiled service counter w/pass-thru to kitchen. The kitchen must be left CLEAN!
  • Classrooms - $50 each for 3-hours; $75 for longer. Each classroom is @200 sq ft. Includes use of chairs & tables (child or adult size; you move in what you need); chalkboard, easels. 

  • Land/Amphitheatre & Picnic Shelter - $300. Footbridge over creek to Stage with rustic bench seats for 100+; 20' x 40' covered picnic shelter w/concrete floor; electricity available by stage. This facility is not available if there has been a lot of rain recently, as cars would get stuck!  

  • Patio - $50. Large concrete patio connected to the church (use of Chapel in case of rain.) Use of tables & chairs for patio: add $50.

  • Nursery - Nursery room is free with any other rental.  Equipped with TV/VCR, toys, sink & diaper-changing counter.  You will need to provide your own Childcare person.

Other Resources

TECH ROOM in Chapel: Includes Sound System and/or Audio Visual Equipment:

  • May be used only on prior arrangement: a technician from the church will be assigned for an EXTRA FEE. 

  • Sound Tech: If you wish to use the sound system, you will need a Sound Tech to set up and run the equipment.  Fee: $100  (Exception: No charge for a simple wedding in which Lytingale is performing.) 
  • Equipment includes: 24 channel sound system; CD recorder; Cassette recorder; Computer & Powerpoint projector & large screen; CD, DVD, VHS players.

Available with prior approval:

  • Piano is a "studio grand" Baldwin
  • Drum set - Bring your own snare, cymbals (high hats), sticks, throne  (our drummer uses a chair). Set has kick, 2 toms, floor toms, all pedals & stands
  • Conga drums - 2-piece congas on stand

Easel frames: Are available and will be placed in rooms if requested at time of rental. Easel pads, pens and other supplies must be provided by renter.

Tables or Chairs: Included with rental of Chapel or Fellowship Room.  We have 30 lightweight 8' banquet tables, and 25 folding chairs that may be rented for use off-site or on-site at our amphitheatre, picnic shelter, or patio. Chapel padded chairs may NOT be used outdoors; a limited number may be available for rental off-site.

  • On-Site Use outdoors: $50 for tables; $50 for folding chairs - you move & put back! 
  • Off-Site Use: $75 per day - you transport!
