"What Do You Want?"
by Dave De la Rosa, May 2005

Many of us go through our days not giving much thought to what we want. We have learned to focus on what we don’t want, then we create our desires from there. With this kind of approach, you end up with something like "I want to be rich ... because I don’t want to be hungry, or I don’t want to wear second hand clothes, or I don’t want to drive around in an old beat-up car, or so I can get out of this damned place." (Could you get passionate about that?)

Unfortunately for this approach, the Universal Law of Attraction -- the physical/spiritual law that works to manifest your desired reality experience -- is more concerned with focused energy than whether that energy is negative or positive. If you want to be rich because you don’t want to be poor, then most of your attention is on the effect in your life of being poor. The universe responds to your focused attention by manifesting lack in your life, which in turn, usually elicits more of your focus on lack. You can see how our predicaments tend to perpetuate themselves.

Fortunately, there have been sages, beings, entities in our world who have figured out how the Law of Attraction works, and it is now available to us as a tool for creating our preferred reality. Wherever you place your greatest energy, there will manifest your life’s experience.

Excited anticipation is a key element in the effectiveness of the Law of Attraction, like adding rocket fuel to the fire. If you choose to work the process, it may be a slow go, at first, due to lack of enthusiasm, inspired by a bit of disbelief. Keep the faith. The process works, even without your enthusiasm, but takes a little longer to manifest. Once you do get results, your new found excitement and anticipation will exponentially expedite the results of future efforts.

So, what do you want? A weightlifter sees herself lifting 300 pounds. An investor sees himself driving around in a new BMW roadster. A wannabe airline stewardess sees herself enjoying traveling and visiting different parts of the country. (Could you get passionate about that?)

The idea is to dream, then get excited about its manifestation into your real experience. If you don’t put much energy into dreaming about what you want in life, then what you will get is a hodgepodge of stuff designed by your emotional concerns. Can you see why the world we live in is so full of anxiety, illness, violence, corruption and social unrest? It’s a world designed predominantly by our global fears.

Our hope is, that some day, a large enough mass of people will be focused on how beautiful our lives can be, that peace, love, joy and abundance will be the predominant experience in our world.

What would it take from you, to awaken each day and invest a little time dreaming of delightful possibilities, then go out into the world in eager anticipation of what you will create in your life using the Law of Attraction, this divine tool of manifestation?

Sweet dreams!
