It's not easy being teen! Please join us as we explore the issues and challenges that teens face in our lives... from a viewpoint that is both practical and spiritual... with friendship and support. All Teens, ages 14-18 (high school), are welcomed with open minds & loving hearts each Sunday 11:00-12:30 in our couch-comfy Y.O.U. room (Fuzzy Lane). For more info, call us! |

Coming to Y.O.U. has many benefits:
We invite all teens to join us on Sundays!

Extra Activities Regional Rallies - The Y.O.U. Rally experience includes lots of love and learning, from Workshops & Playshops... Secret Pals... Aura Wash... Warm Fuzzies... and connections with hundreds of like-minded teens from all over the Southeast region! The rallies are planned and executed by teens - the elected regional representatives - with guidance by our SE Regional Y.O.U. Coordinator, Carolyn Renfro. An adult sponsor from each chapter travels with the teens, acting as chaperones and participating in the rally experience. Spring Rally and Fall Rally are weekend experiences held in Florida in mid-March and early November. Our teens travel to Atlanta on Thursday evening, spend the night at a "lock-in" at Unity North, then board a big tour-bus to make the journey to Florida. They return home VERY LATE on Sunday night. Summer Connection is a week-long Rally in June, held at Warren Wilson College, near Asheville N.C. Check-in is on Sunday afternoon, and the rally ends at Friday noon. Often included is a raft or kayak float trip on the French Broad River. Y.O.U. teens earn the money to go to rallies! Watch for Y.O.U. fundraisers, such as Italian Dinner, Car washes, Bake sales, Lunch after Church, etc. Service Projects - Our Y.O.U. teens occasionally do service projects in our community, such as Feeding the Homeless: Youth Of Unity teens made soup & sandwiches and delivered them to Pritchard Park to feed about 80 homeless people there.

November 2003: Our beloved sponsor, Tom Heald, has "retired" from Y.O.U. after 12 years as Sponsor! We honored him at the Sunday service on Nov. 16, 2003, with our testimonials and a collage we made. The church also gave him a restaurant gift certificate & a cash gift. "Tom is absolutely the most loving person I have ever met. Unconditional Love is one of the most fundamental ideas at Unity and he puts it into practice. The world would be a vastly different place if everyone had just a tenth the love, kindness, and thoughtfulness that Tom has. To say the least, Tom will be greatly missed by everyone in the Y.O.U." ~Ben Morgan |

Youth of Unity
is an international organization for youth ages 14-18 (grades 9-12). The purpose of
Y.O.U. is to facilitate a
safe, fun, and loving environment for youth to explore and
discuss their spirituality. Y.O.U. provides youth the opportunity to explore
Unity's Principles and other truth teachings and to
demonstrate these in their Unity centers, local community, and
daily lives.
Locally, any Unity church affiliated with the Association of Unity Churches may facilitate and sponsor a Y.O.U. chapter, usually meeting on a weekly basis. In chapters, youth discuss and learn a variety of spiritual teachings, attend social gatherings, and become involved in their church and community. Officers or a leadership team are often elected to explore personal leadership abilities and their utilization in our daily lives. Many chapters within geographical regions come together throughout the year for rallies, retreats, and service projects that are sponsored and hosted by chapters within the region or the region itself. These events encourage fellowship as well as the sharing of ideas and experiences in the framework of Unity principles. Workshops are held, guest speakers share their wisdom, and family groups discuss personal applications of truth principles. Regional Representatives are elected yearly as they help shape the Y.O.U. experience on a regional level through the coordination and planning of rallies, Leadership events, lock-ins, sub-regional activities, fund-raisers, and service projects.
